My Story
I bought sober100.com a while ago. I remember the moment I purchased it: I was sitting at my computer, probably a drink in hand, thinking that someday I would do something meaningful with it. Then it just sat there. For a long time.
The truth is, I wasn't ready. I kept telling myself I'd start "next month" or "after this thing at work" or "when things calm down." But things never calm down, and there's always another reason to wait.
One day I stopped waiting. I decided I was going to get sober, and I was going to build something that could help other people do it too. Not a corporate wellness product. Not something locked behind a paywall. Something free, something real, something that treats people like adults who are capable of changing their own lives.
So here I am, doing the 100-day challenge myself while building the platform at the same time. Every tool on this site is something I personally use. Every feature comes from a real need I've felt. I'm not building this from some ivory tower; I'm building it from the trenches, one day at a time, right alongside you.
Is it messy? Yes. Is it honest? Absolutely. And I think that's what makes it different.
Our Mission
Sober100 exists for one reason: to give everyone access to high-quality sobriety tools, completely free. No subscription fees. No premium tiers that lock away the good stuff. No cost barrier, period.
Too many recovery resources are expensive, clinical, or hard to find. We believe that getting sober shouldn't depend on your bank account. Whether you're a college student, a single parent, or just someone who's tired of feeling stuck, you deserve access to tools that actually work.
My goal is to make this my full-time mission. I want to wake up every day and work on helping people get sober. That's it. That's the whole plan.
The Science
Everything we build is grounded in real research. Our tools draw from evidence-based frameworks including Mindfulness-Based Relapse Prevention (MBRP), SMART Recovery principles, and implementation intentions research.
We don't make up techniques or rely on willpower alone. The science shows that combining structured daily practices with community support and mindfulness dramatically improves outcomes. That's exactly what Sober100 is designed to do.
